Women of Impact: Leadership That Lifts Communities

“Leadership is about showing up for others—whether it’s ensuring seniors are cared for with dignity or helping young women find their voice and their path. When we lift others, we strengthen the whole community.”
— Julie Delgadillo, Director of Development, St. Vincent Meals on Wheels

There are moments when leadership doesn’t just serve—it rises.

Across the Daughters of Charity ministries, we see that spirit come to life in the people who show up each day for others.

This past month, Assemblymember Mike Fong hosted the Women of Impact Awards, recognizing leaders across the San Gabriel Valley whose service is strengthening communities and creating lasting change.

At Maryvale, Erica Luna Gonzales was named Impact Leader of the Year—an acknowledgment of her work supporting children, young people, and families, and helping create pathways forward for the next generation.

At St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, Julie Delgadillo brings that same commitment to serving homebound seniors—while mentoring young women and encouraging them to lead with purpose in their work and in their communities.

Different paths, shared purpose.

This is Vincentian leadership in motion—meeting people where they are, and helping build what comes next.

We’re grateful to Assemblymember Mike Fong for shining a light on women whose leadership uplifts others and expands what’s possible.

And as we begin a new week, may we carry that spirit forward.
