When the World Feels Uncertain, Compassion Remains Constant
“I urge you… that there be no divisions among you.”
— 1 Corinthians 1:10
Many in our community are feeling unsettled right now. In recent days, heightened enforcement activity has brought fear and uncertainty to neighborhoods across Los Angeles.
At St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, we understand that fear takes many forms. The seniors we serve often carry quiet worries — about having enough food, about safety, about being alone, about what tomorrow will bring.
In moments like these, our mission remains simple: to meet the person in front of us with care. Rooted in the spirit of the Daughters of Charity, we serve those most in need without condition — with reverence for each person’s dignity and the belief that every neighbor deserves to be seen and valued.
We are deeply grateful for the staff, volunteers, and donors who make this ministry possible each day. Because of your steady support, meals continue to arrive with compassion and presence — a reminder that no one is forgotten.
May this week bring comfort, steadiness, and a renewed commitment to one another’s humanity, so that all may feel safe, supported, and able to thrive.
