Vegetarian Month
October is Vegetarian Month, and at St. Vincent Meals on Wheels we take pride in honoring the food preferences and medical needs of the seniors we serve. For some, that means vegetarian meals — dishes created with the same care and thoughtfulness as every meal that leaves our kitchen.
Our dietitian, Itchaqueira F., and our kitchen staff carefully plan menus with variety and balance in mind, from lentil sloppy joes to cheese enchiladas to tofu teriyaki. But it goes further: many of our meals are medically tailored — crafted to meet the needs of clients managing diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, or renal issues.
It’s one more way we go #BeyondTheMeal — making sure our clients feel seen, heard, and cared for.
