There is still time to triple your gift and help us meet the most basic need of all: food. Without it, our seniors cannot thrive — and too many are at risk.

In recent months, more seniors have begun to ask us the same question:
“Will you still be able to bring my meal?”
They know the costs of food, rent, and utilities are rising. They feel the strain long before the rest of the world notices.

Our answer is still yes — even as our resources shrink and the need grows.

Seniors like Cary W., who is blind and depends on St. Vincent Meals on Wheels each day, remind us what that “yes” means. Our staff and volunteers place his meal in the same spot every day so he can find it safely. That small act allows him to stay independent in his own home.

The rising cost of living means more seniors are struggling to make ends meet. At the same time, SVMOW is being called on to do more: deliver nutritious and medically tailored meals, check on seniors living alone, and intervene before an empty fridge, an unpaid bill, or a medical setback becomes a crisis. We are the safety net when there is no one else.

We also care for clients like Irene, once a celebrated opera singer, now homebound. She receives food and love every day, just as her mother did before her — a circle of care that never breaks. When she became too frail to manage the steps outside her home, our Home Sweet Home initiative installed safety rails so she could step outside again and reconnect with the world.
