Tackling Hunger Month: Going Beyond the Meal

Every day throughout Los Angeles County, thousands of homebound seniors confront hunger and loneliness. Many live alone, far from family, and can no longer shop or cook for themselves. For them, a delivered meal is more than just food — it’s the deep simplicity of human connection.

Now, with federal budget cuts reducing essential food programs, the need has never been greater. As a ministry of the Daughters of Charity, we follow the Vincentian call to serve the poor, the sick, and the lonely — meeting each person with dignity, respect, and love.

During Tackling Hunger Month, our commitment grows stronger. Even as resources shrink and the need rises, we continue to reach the most vulnerable seniors — made possible only through the generosity of our donors. Your support helps ensure that no one is forgotten, and that every senior we serve feels cared for and valued.
