In This Season of Thanks, We Celebrate Those Who Keep Showing Up
“whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” — Proverbs 11:25
For nearly twenty-five years, Doug Bello has been a steady presence at St. Vincent Meals on Wheels. Since the early 2000s, he’s been delivering meals and friendship to homebound seniors across Los Angeles — always with a smile and a kind word.
“It’s been a great experience all these years — and it continues to be,” Doug says.
Many of our clients say that Doug’s visit is the highlight of their week — a reminder that someone cares and that they’re not forgotten. His quiet dedication reflects what this mission is all about: food and love, given freely and without fanfare.
As we move through this Season of Thanks, we’re especially grateful for volunteers like Doug, for the Daughters of Charity whose mission guides our work, and for our donors, whose generosity makes it all possible.
Because of you, seniors across Los Angeles are fed, seen, heard, and loved — and together, we all continue to thrive.
