Help Us Ensure No Senior Goes Hungry: St. Vincent Meals on Wheels Faces Increased Demand Amid Federal Budget Cuts

In Los Angeles County, recent federal budget cuts threaten essential food programs, putting vulnerable seniors at greater risk of homelessness. With nearly $200 billion cut from initiatives like SNAP, the safety net for these individuals is weakening.

St. Vincent Meals on Wheels delivers nearly 3,000 hot meals daily to homebound seniors, many of whom live at or below the poverty line. For these seniors, access to nutritious, often medically tailored meals is often a crucial factor that keeps them from falling into homelessness. The number of unhoused adults aged 65 and older has surged by more than 17% in just one year, making them the fastest-growing homeless group in California.

As organizations that serve older adults face budget shortfalls and funding cuts, essential services are being scaled back just as demand increases. SVMOW is dedicated to being a “Safety Net for LA County Seniors,” but we need your support.

Your generous contribution can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. Together, we can ensure that no senior goes hungry and that they have the resources to preserve their dignity and stability. Please consider donating to St. Vincent Meals on Wheels today.
