Embody the Promise of Hope
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes.” — Revelation 21:4
For many, the challenges and loneliness of everyday life can overshadow joy. At St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, we strive to embody the promise of hope by going #BeyondTheMeal—seeing and serving the whole person. Our mission is to deliver not just food, but also love, creating meaningful connections that resonate with our homebound clients.
In a sprawling area like Los Angeles County, it’s easy for our elderly and frail neighbors to feel overlooked and forgotten. However, the knock at the door and the warm smiles from our drivers and hot meal runners provide reassurance that they are not alone—a comforting reminder that can ease the isolation they often face. For many, a simple act of kindness, such as asking how they are doing, can lift their spirits and remind them their lives are meaningful and they are valued.
We often hear from our clients that our staff—whether delivering a hot meal to their door or conducting a wellness check over the phone—serve as their only link to the outside world and their primary source of companionship. This connection reflects how we see and care for them, sometimes even helping to “wipe away their tears” and bringing light into their lives.
Thanks to the ongoing support of donors like you, we are creating a reality where our clients feel less alone and everyone can thrive, regardless of their circumstances.
