Compassion in Action
At St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, partnerships matter because people matter.
This week, we recognize the generosity of Ralphs and Food 4 Less/Foods Co., whose recent gift to Vincentian charities in Los Angeles reflects shared values and a shared commitment to caring for our neighbors.
Kroger’s Zero Hunger | Zero Waste campaign is built on a simple belief: good food should feed people, not landfills. That vision aligns with the Vincentian spirit carried forward by the Daughters of Charity—meeting people where they are and ensuring no one is left behind.
“Corporate partners like Kroger help turn compassion into action,” says Julie Delgadillo, Director of Development at St. Vincent Meals on Wheels. “Their support allows us—and our Vincentian partners, the Ladies of Charity of Los Angeles and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Los Angeles—to do what we’re called to do: care for our neighbors with dignity and love.”
“Service begins in the communities where we live and thrive,” says Sal Ramirez of Kroger. “Supporting organizations like St. Vincent Meals on Wheels is one way we care for the places we all call home.”
That is the heart of #BeyondtheMeal—care that begins with food, but never ends there, embracing the whole person through human connection and vital partnerships.
Across organizations, partners, donors, and volunteers, this shared commitment is what allows seniors—and the wider community we share—to thrive.
