Celebrating Culture, Connection, and Community

Cinco de Mayo.

A day that means many things—history, culture, and here in Los Angeles, connection.

At St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, that connection is part of our everyday work.

Many of the seniors we serve are Spanish-speaking. Many of our team members come from Latino and Hispanic communities that have shaped this city for generations.

Long before Los Angeles became what it is today, the Daughters of Charity stood alongside the Mexican families who built this community. That bond endures.

We also know this moment carries uncertainty. Immigration concerns have many in our community on edge.

And still—there is strength. Pride. Resilience.

So today, we pause to recognize and celebrate the culture, contributions, and deep roots of the Latino community in the City of Angels.

We see you.
We are grateful for you.
We stand with you.

Because this work—preparing and delivering food and love—is built on connection.

And with your support, it continues—bringing our city together in the ways that matter most.
