A Community of Care: Welcoming Brooke Rosell, RD to Our Team
We’re delighted to welcome Brooke Rosell, MS, RD, to St. Vincent Meals on Wheels as our new Registered Dietitian.
Brooke joins our community with a deep commitment to service and a professional background spanning nonprofit programs, skilled nursing, and hospital settings, where she supported patients navigating complex medical and nutritional needs. Now, her focus turns to the seniors we serve each day.
“Seniors living independently at home often face challenges that aren’t always visible,” Brooke shares. “Changes in appetite, mobility, or health — along with isolation — can make something as basic as preparing balanced meals incredibly difficult. Good nutrition plays a critical role in helping older adults maintain their strength, stability, and independence.”
At St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, that understanding directly shapes our approach. Many of the homebound seniors we serve are managing heart disease, diabetes, and other medical conditions that require thoughtful, medically tailored meals. Brooke works closely with Chef Carlos and our kitchen team to help ensure meals are not only nourishing, but designed to support each client’s individual health needs.
For Brooke, this work extends far beyond clinical guidance.
“Food is never just nutrients,” she says. “Meals carry comfort, familiarity, and connection. A meal nourishes the body, but it can also provide reassurance — a reminder that someone is paying attention, that someone cares.”
This level of care is made possible through the generosity of our donors. Every medically tailored meal reflects a community dedicated to helping seniors remain healthy, nourished, and supported in their homes.
Together, we prepare and deliver food and love — helping older adults across Los Angeles County continue to thrive at home.
